As the traditional first blog post goes, here's a little about myself to get us acquainted.
My name is Aranza Garza. I'm from Edinburg, Texas, but I moved to Austin, Texas in August. I'm currently a Neuroscience major at The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em Horns!). I'm a part of a long-form Improv Troupe on campus called SNAFU Improv (follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook).
I grew up traveling from city to city, because of my dad's job (he's a journeyman electrician). I've lived in Texas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Alabama. When I entered sixth grade, back in 2006, my family decided to settle down in our native Edinburg, but my dad continued to travel because of his job.
I describe myself as a free spirit. I'm always open for new adventures. I love meeting new people, giving compliments, and taking risks. I credit all of these aspects of my personality to the fact that I had to make a new set of friends every six months growing up (once again, thanks dad).
Anyways, I have acquired a particular view on life experiences.
I love going out with a positive mind set. If I'm ever doubting whether or not I should go up to someone and start a conversation, I always remind myself that the chances I'll ever see that person again are slim to none, and that I might as well talk to them. Usually, this has created some of my best memories. I try to keep an optimistic point of view....most of the time.
I love sunflowers, lightning bolts, butterflies, Charles Bukowski, The Killers, and beer.
I love stargazing, deep
conversations, spontaneity, late night swims, and the smell of freshly cut grass.
I love my family and I love my friends.
Also, I'm one of the luckiest people you will ever meet.
But, my life is just one big coincidence.
